Four Days of Music, Carnival Rides, and Culture: Autumn Fest Returns to Little Elm Park

Autumn Fest 2026 runs Sept. 17–20 at Little Elm Park with live bands, a lakefront carnival, and a Hispanic Heritage celebration.

Carnival Lights Over Lake Lewisville

By late afternoon on Thursday, September 17, the parking lot at Little Elm Park will already smell like fried dough and funnel cake. The carnival rides will be spinning above the tree line along West Eldorado Parkway, and the first wave of families will be making their way toward the lakefront grass. That is how Autumn Fest opens its four-day run in 2026 — not with a ceremony or a ribbon-cutting, but with noise and color and the specific energy of a town that has been waiting for this all year.

The festival takes over Little Elm Park at 701 W. Eldorado Pkwy from September 17 through 20, bringing live entertainment, food vendors, carnival rides and games, and a cultural celebration that stretches across the entire long weekend.

What to Expect Each Night

Friday, September 18, is built around the concert stage. At 7:00 PM, the Dallas-based tribute band Reputation takes the Autumn Fest stage for a two-hour performance covering the music of Taylor Swift. The set runs until 9:00 PM, and for a lakefront park that regularly draws crowds from across the northern DFW suburbs, it is the kind of booking that tends to fill the grass early. Bring a blanket if you want a good spot by 6:30.

Saturday, September 19, the carnival is open from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM — a full nine-hour window that makes it the heaviest activity day of the weekend. The evening concert belongs to Topanga, a 90s cover band that steps on stage at 7:00 PM. If you grew up with alternative radio in the Clinton era, this is your night. The food trucks and vendor booths run alongside the carnival throughout the afternoon and into the evening.

Sunday Closes with Hispanic Heritage Celebration

Sunday, September 20, is the most distinct day of the four. The closing afternoon and evening are dedicated to a Hispanic Heritage Celebration, timed to fall within the national Hispanic Heritage Month observation period that runs from September 15 through October 15.

The Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico performs from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. The Dallas-based company has been one of the most recognizable names in regional folk dance for decades, and their presence gives Sunday a grounded cultural weight that sets it apart from the carnival energy of the earlier days. The evening closes with the Tejano Queen Forever Band from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, a fitting end to a weekend that has covered a lot of sonic ground.

Rooted in the Lakefront District

Little Elm Park is not just a generic municipal green space. Sitting along the western edge of Lake Lewisville, the park is the geographic anchor of a lakefront district that has been deliberately built up over the past several years. The same stretch of Eldorado Parkway that frames the festival also runs past The Lakefront at Little Elm, the Town’s mixed-use entertainment and recreation corridor at 125 Main Street.

That context matters when you think about what Autumn Fest is doing. The festival is not imported talent dropped onto a neutral patch of land. It is a community event staged in a place that the town has invested in specifically for this kind of use — outdoor concerts, family gatherings, events that pull people toward the water rather than away from it.

Little Elm’s population was roughly 300 people when the town incorporated in 1966. The community now supports a four-day festival with multiple headlining musical acts, a full carnival midway, folk dance from one of the region’s most respected companies, and a Tejano closing set. That arc is worth pausing on, even briefly.

Practical Details

The park address is 701 W. Eldorado Pkwy, Little Elm, TX 75068. The carnival runs daily, and the evening concerts on Friday and Saturday both begin at 7:00 PM. Sunday’s programming starts in the early afternoon with the ballet folklorico at 2:00 PM.

For ticketing, parking, and the full schedule, the official Autumn Fest event page has the current information. Food vendors and trucks will be on site across all four days, so there is no need to plan around a meal before you arrive — though arriving hungry is never the worst strategy at a festival like this.

If you have not been down to the park on a festival weekend, this is a reasonable introduction. The lakefront setting does a lot of the work on its own. The rest of it — the music, the rides, the smell of the midway, the sound of a ballet folklorico company working through a full set — fills in around it.
